I have been enjoying my new city bike 100% these days and cycled to places I forgot they existed. Falmer is a small village lying between Brighton and Lewes. Falmer is divided by the A27 and linked by a foot bridge. In the southern part of the village, there is a large pond encircled by cottages
and a parish church, dedicated to St. Laurence.
Campuses of the University of Sussex and the University of Brighton are nearby, as is The Keep - East Sussex County Council's new archive
and record office. On the ground floor of Falmer House (above) there is a Union Shop, "a one-stop convenience store supplying life's necessities to get you through your day on campus", such as "delicious freshly baked 'Real Patisserie' pastries and breads, hot takeaway drinks and a pint of milk first thing in the morning, delicious Bagelman bagels and fresh sandwiches and pizza at lunchtime, and a bottle of wine to go home with later on." Woah!!
The station serves the village of Falmer as well as the University of Sussex campus and the University of Brighton Falmer Campus. It also serves Falmer Stadium, the new home of Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. (opened August 2011).
In May 2013 it was announced that on the 19th and 20th of September 2015 the stadium will host games of the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
