ISN'T IT STRIKING?
Now, there are two types of people. The ones who cannot see it, either because it is a bit small and hidden, and those who can see it. Look again one more time.
So, which are you?
I can see two people. Two people on holiday; a couple actually. And there is a pattern here. The hats. And the direction they are looking. There is no other subject :)
And this couple makes my life as a photographer easy. They both wear solid but muted coloured shirts, ideal for photographing people particularly against a very busy background - the colourful foliage. They both wear a hat, which creates repetition, a key element of photography. And finally, they are both looking in the same direction using a similar pose, giving the viewer an interesting view. Now, what's interesting with patterns is when they are broken. Here, the woman's hand holding her hat breaks that pattern. On top of that, her arm creates a triangle. Shapes are key compositional elements. And since we're talking about shapes, do you notices the circles created by the hats?
Photography is not about traveling to the most exotic places. It is about looking at what is around you, wherever you are.
