Last week the cherry blossom trees in parts of Copenhagen have burst in flower. The photograph was taken at Bispebjerg Cemetery. In Denmark cemeteries are like parks. That's where Danes go and spend a few hours walking around, have a picnic, read and relax; and occasionally admire the cherry blossoms!
I was very lucky to have only one person on the frame when I took this photo last Friday. By Saturday the National newspapers ran many articles about it and thousands of people flocked to see this beautiful spectacle of pink sky.
Unfortunately, in the last 4 days many flowers in the lower parts of the trees have been pulled by many children and teenagers. It will always amaze me that people rush to see something beautiful, take a selfie and then distroy it...
