Wednesday we met with Marla in Sankt Hans Torv, a square in the Nørrebro area. She took us to The Barking Dog, a very friendly and welcoming bar down a few steps with quirky named beers, warm ambiance with cosy corners and alcoves. The bar is situated along Sankt Hans Gade at number 19.
We then went for a meal at a Thai restaurant called Aroiidee where we ate a delicious and tasty meal with beers tailored to complement their menu brewed by Mikkeller and Friends, such as The Ricemarket beer with ginger and honey or the Kiin Kiin Mikeller with lemon and lime).
Last night we met with Kendra and David, who we had met about a month ago at the launch of the Tuborg's Christmas Brew, and went to The Mikkeller bar, tucked away on a road off Vesterbrogade. It was bustling even on a weekday. They offer a wide selection of their own beers (about 30!) and 3 varieties of spicy sausages to snack on. Prices range between Kr35-65. As most of the beers are quite strong they are served in small 20-25cl wine glasses. Some of the beers are available in larger glasses though. Their basic Pilsner was recommended but we had the 'To Via From' and the 'Santa's Little Helper' at 8%.
Tonight it is yet another Christmas party we have been invited to and this time it is at Simon and Pippa's house. Roll on Christmas...
