SPRING! At last. In the last week or so everything turned green here in Copenhagen. The trees are not sad looking twigs any longer, but beautiful, big and powerful leafy figures. Life has come back. How I survived another winter of grey and dull weather once more, I don't know. How many times did I wish I was living in Spain? Many.
Yesterday we decided to take our bike and cycle to Dyrehaven, the deer park north of Copenhagen. It's a new season, and so a new generation of deer is happily relaxing on the grass. I love Dyrehaven. If you ever visit Copenhagen you have to go there! I love the big red Jurassic Park style gates at each entrance. I love how wooded it can be with the sunlight reaching through the branches. It is a peaceful place. And of course, you will see deer in the wild. About 2000 of them. Red deer, Fallow deer and Sika deer.
Hermitage Palace was built for Christian VI. There is also a golf course and the oldest theme park in the world called Bakken.
Antlers on red deer stags. Velvet covers a growing antler, providing blood flow that supplies oxygen and nutrients.
