When photographing Tallinn I was in constant search for something interesting to snap and capture.
While walking along the remparts or city walls of the Old town I noticed this old and dark street down below from where I was. I loved the perspective, the colour of the building, the door and the window frame. But something was missing to make the photo different, more exciting and more meaningful.
I waited a few seconds for random people to walk along the pavement, but still their clothes were not right or they were not in the right place. Being the lazy and impatient photographer that I am I gave up and carried on walking. I went up a tower and look through a small window.
There, I saw him. This man wearing the perfect outfit to uplift my picture. I ran down the few steps in the tower and landed on the remparts again. As I was sprinting to go back to my original position I obviously attracted his attention, hence the eye connection.
He then waved at me and went back in.
My subject here is perfectly defined and stands out in front a dark background. He is also wearing white and, as we know, bright areas in a photograph attract the viewer's attention.
I hope you like this photograph. Please comment and share :-)
